These are the primary sources — the actual government tribunal, regulator or data provider — rather than a summary of them. When you want to double-check something I've told you, confirm a number, or download an official form, these are the right places to go.
Every LTB form in one place — the N9 (tenant's notice to end tenancy), N11 (mutual agreement to end), N12 (landlord's own use), T2/T6 (tenant applications), plus filing fees and where to submit. Start here whenever a form is needed on either side of a tenancy.
The Board itself: guides, rules of procedure, and where a dispute actually gets heard if it can't be resolved directly. Good starting point when a question is bigger than one form.
Plain-language explanations of Ontario tenant and landlord rights, written by Legal Aid Ontario and community legal clinics — the best free "translate this into English" layer on top of the RTA itself.
The regulator for every real estate professional in Ontario. Verify a registrant's status, read the consumer guides on buying/selling/renting, or file a complaint. This is also where the advertising and disclosure rules I work under come from.
The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board's monthly Market Watch — average and benchmark prices, sales-to-new-listings ratio, and days on market for the GTA. The source behind any market figure I quote you.
The Canadian Real Estate Association's national numbers — useful context when a headline is about "the Canadian market" and you want to see how the GTA compares.
An independent, repeat-sales price index (not based on listings) tracking 11 Canadian metro areas including Toronto — a good sanity check against board-reported averages, which can be skewed by what happened to sell that month.
The province's own site — land transfer tax, the Residential Tenancies Act, the Condominium Act, and every other piece of provincial law and program that touches a transaction.
The federal government's site — mortgage rules, the Home Buyers' Plan, immigration and newcomer housing programs, and anything else set federally rather than provincially.
GST/HST new housing rebate rules, principal residence exemption, rental income reporting, and the Home Buyers' Plan withdrawal rules. The source behind the HST rebate calculator on my site.
The policy interest rate and the bond yields that lenders price fixed mortgage rates off of — straight from the source rather than a headline summarizing it. Useful before any conversation about whether rates are likely to move.
Mortgage default insurance rules and premiums for down payments under 20%, plus CMHC's own housing market data and rental market reports.
Ontario's new-home warranty program — what's covered, the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process, and the statutory timelines for reporting a defect after closing.
Check whether a builder or vendor is licensed in Ontario, and see their compliance record, before signing a pre-construction agreement.
The regulator for condo corporations — status certificate guidance, the condo living guides, and a tribunal for disputes between owners and their corporation. Essential reading for anyone buying into a condo or POTL townhouse.
A free 30-minute consultation with an Ontario lawyer or paralegal, matched to your issue — useful if a situation (a lease dispute, an assignment, a title question) needs advice beyond what I can offer as your agent.
